Since my last group tutorial, I have emailed Andrew asking if he would be able to send over some more everyday images to further on my development on the project and see where it is possible to progress to in terms of sustaining the project. Before Easter I received a few more images in the dropbox of a recent walk they had taken along with a few images of the quarry and surrounding fields.
However, after asking my subject for some more everyday images, I have received no more communication nor response. I have sent three emails to update my subject on the work I have been doing as well as to politely ask for any more images to be sent over. In the tutorial today, I highlighted that I had had no response from my subject and did not know how to proceed from here.
As the project is participatory, no input or response from my subject is a bit worrying as I am relying on them quite significantly for images and information. Without this communication and sharing of images, it is hard to be able to progress the project on in the way I would normally. After speaking to the group today, it was advised that I email again to see if contact can be made and to enquire as to whether my subject is still engaged with the project. It has also been suggested I look into backup options should I get no response by next week, just in case I need to change the project.
My next steps are to email out again, and I think also send a link to the work that I have done so far, such the start of the layout that I have done so far. This may give them a feel more for what I am doing, and hopefully keep their engagement within the project.
So far this is the start of the layout that I have created, which I will send Andrew a link to so that he can flip through and see if there is anything he does or doesn’t like etc:
Below is the accompanying email I sent:
I am hoping to hear back soon from Andrew as I can then hopefully progress with the project and know where I stand as well as schedule any meetings I may need to to discuss what to do next.
